Michael Shepherd - ! ! The five of Pentecost - to Marsilio Ficino

Sometimes you spell it out for us: br God’s earth – the matter of the universe, br holding without form at first, br all God’s love, grace, mercy, pardon, br as our earth which was yet to nourish; br br God’s water – as His love, br flowing now; now binding hearts together; br baptizing with His grace; br br God’s fire – that warms, consumes, br shines as the beauty of His blessing; br a light so bright, we cannot see His form.. br br What then, would you say br of God’s own air? That holy spirit, br that blows His grace as blow it will; br breathes through His boundless space br upon the souls in their own upper air; br br And what then of God’s fifth element – br the ether, humming His vibrations? br what of the sound of God? br what may we listen to, or sound, of Him? br br The upper room br of house, of soul; br a rushing, mighty wind br whose sound blew through their lives br with many voices; tongues of flame br around their heads; br and as much spirit, love, and grace, br and as much nourishment and daily bread br as man to man; br as soul to soul; br as godself to godself; br br perhaps, as John said, br remembering that Pentecost - br one word.
