The younger birds have flown off far away! br Their parents aged are left alone today; br The nest looks empty, silent, everyday; br O Lord, show us your way- they pray! br br Who cares who cares for elderly these days? br All children seem busy in their own ways; br Mere solitude is what the world repays; br Oh, what a blot on modern human race! br br What love was shown by parents in years past! br They look now weary, dazed, with eyes downcast; br They live in penury and sickness fast; br ’Tis years, their near and dear ones saw them last! br br Cannot all children understand their plight? br Neglecting elderly is never right; br God sees their bloody tears when children fight; br The elderly need food, comfort, care, sight! br br Our parents kept us warm when we were cold; br All children have a duty to ones old; br The elderly need young shoulders to hold; br Their virtuous deeds are worth more than all gold! br br Copyright by Dr John Celes 6-10-2006 br Dedicated most lovingly to the World’s Elderlybr br Dr John Celesbr br
