Kathryn Miller - Grandmother

Kathryn Miller - Grandmother

She taught me how to cook, br She taught me how to sew, br I have always thought of my grandmother as… br A rather strong woman, br Who could withstand the toughest wind, br Until one day they told me, br She had had two strokes and couldn’t smile again, br I know you may think “well she still loved you”, br But I cried until there were no more tears, br I wept until my body shook, br Because even though I knew she could feel it, br She could never show happiness again, br She could never smile, br She couldn’t spread her laughter, br Like she had before, br At first I was mad, br But that all changed very soon, br Because I became sad, br My grandmother passed away, br When I was a very small child, br I remember little but her smile, br And I hope that she is smiling down on me from above.
