Suddenly I was awake br Wide-awake like I had never gone to sleep br And the face of the clock at my bedside br Showed me the twelfth night watchman br Had gone by br br I looked outside through the window br And the silence of the moonlight called to me br I went out into the stillness of the night br And oh! Oh! Oh! What a beaut, br Oh! What a beaut br br In the clear night sky br The moon in sheer brilliance br Was sitting on her throne br And like a virgin bride, br she was fully clothed in white br and all but the lordly stars br were bowing to her in reverence br br I stood there, caught in that moment br Lost in the wonder to one of God’s creations br I felt so humbled that, br I too bowed to that heavenly presence.
