Linda Ori - Memories On Your Birthday

Linda Ori - Memories On Your Birthday

You taught me how to bake a cake br So many years ago, br You took me swimming in the lake br And walking in the snow; br We went to watch 'The Black Hand' br And 'Wake of the Red Witch', too - br I don't remember many things br I couldn't make you do; br You used to put my hair up br In pins to make it curl, br So many hours I spent with you br When I was just a girl; br You'd come and play piano br And I loved to hear you play, br Your fingers danced like butterflies br On a lazy summer day; br I loved to eat your sandwiches br Of butter and cream cheese br Whenever I would spend the night br Or picnic 'neath the trees; br You spoke to me of many things br That now I understand - br We wander through 'Green Mansions' br With our spirits hand in hand; br I have so many memories br To last my whole life through, br If anyone has touched my heart br It certainly was you; br I feel we have a special bond br That few will ever know, br And we'll always be together br Wherever the road may go. br br br Written for my favorite' aunt' five months before she died of a stroke. I had a feeling I wouldn't see her again, and it was true.
