Sylvia Chidi - Mother Earth

Sylvia Chidi - Mother Earth

I am here to commemorate and honour the life of Mother Earth br Mother earth was everything to me br She had her virtues br That was nothing new br She was very special and unique br There was absolutely nothing in her league br br Unfortunately I was not present at her birth br And deplorably I have to speak about her death br br Her birth they say was an amazing wonder br Which no man alone could bring asunder br She was created from the smallest element in the universe br And yet became the greatest miracle of it br So many blessings she has showered on the human race br br From endless nights to glorious days br Showered randomly by rainbow colours br Gentle winds and pouring rains br The mighty oceans and the gentle blazing sun br br These were the gifts Mother Earth offered br The seas, land, air, sun, rain and thunder br br She matured daily with strenght, wisdom and love br To give so much to us br Once a paradise br Ripe with variety of fruits br Blessed with many mixed cultures br Inhabited by numerous families br Rich in food and wealthy in nature br br Now a barren land br Completely void br The air polluted by fumes br Sickness and poverty the earth consumes br br I content myself with the beautiful memories of you br Mother Earth! br I thank you for your gifts br I await the rebirth of you br Perhaps now that we know what is true br We humans may take better care of you br br Copyright 2006 - Sylvia Chidibr br Sylvia Chidibr br
