Stanley Cooper - Retirement

Stanley Cooper - Retirement

I’m having the time of my life br With Jeanne, my lovely young wife br Retired and happy br I’m a happy grand-pappy br With good times abundantly rife br br I wake up each day about noon br Perhaps noon’s a little too soon br With no mountains to climb br There is plenty of time br To lounge around in my room br br I check to see if it’s raining br That’s not too energy draining br Raining or not br In Vegas it’s hot br But what’s the sense in complaining br br After checking the state of the weather br I sit around wondering whether br To eat breakfast or lunch br Or settle on brunch br They’re kind of birds of a feather br br br When I’m done with all of that food br With nothing on the telly that’s good br When the screen beckons br I usually reckon br To lie down and watch it, I should br br There’s no show I see to the end br But sleeping for me seems to rend br The joy I attain br When resting my brain br Dozing’s become my best friend br br I’ve shown you how my day goes br It’s a twenty-four hourly doze br I’m sure you’ll agree br Retirement for me br Is an enjoyable daily reposebr br Stanley Cooperbr br
