Herbert Nehrlich - His Travels

Cool breezes herald the arrival br of neutral sanity among the folks br who pitter patter through the streets br relieved yet ever saddled with br life's promissary notes, in gold. br br Then there is me, a stranger now br a drifter with unknown intentions, br a jaw so tight that people hear br the grinding of the trusty molar guard. br br A monkey, stuffed, hangs on a string br and sways above the rosewood dash br as if to show appreciation for the tune br of melancholy and bipolar happiness br content, agreeing with his master br both demons of insane velocity. br br He nods his head and grins with teeth br so white that silent lightning flashes br accompany the alabaster dance br of straight Teutonic lines, dividing br as they do, so orderly, within the law br the cubic inches of the ones who have br from common citizens, still filled with hope. br br As clouds appear to hurry home br to some unknown and worthy paradise, br he bites his nails in bitter privacy br only the monkey senses the uncertainty br so unaware of it, oblivious to destiny.
