David Darbyshire - In the Park

David Darbyshire - In the Park

Looking out my window, br green as far as I can see. br Wish I could go out, br but I'm stuck in this wheel-chair, not free. br br So I grit my teeth and br roll out into the park. br sometimes I sit there all day, br even when it gets dark. br br I love the park, birds sing, br kids on the swing. br The trouble is br I can't do anything. br br But as I sit and wonder, br little children come and talk. br they look at me and ask, br why can you not walk? br br I say: Oh I can walk, br I just like to sit a lot. br The kids smile and look at me in a funny way, br then they wave bye-bye, and go and play. br br I love the kids and their attitudes, br quite nice, the cute young dudes. br I just wish, all the adults were the same, br I tell ya, there's a lot that should feel shame. br br Adults say: Why you are like that? br you must feel like shit. br The kids are much better, br it's the adults that miss it.
