Angela Davis - I Fight

I was a small child br an outlet for my parents' rage, br his vile, sickening lust br and I fought br br I was a young woman br caught in the same web br by another and yet another, br I was a victim again br and I fought br br I found freedom br and finally love br but I was afraid br it could not not be br And I fought br br This love saw through br my fear and insecurities br overcame my walls br no longer did I fight br br I found happiness br and joy in life br for the first time br being shown the beauty br of the world around me br br But I watched my body br as it changed, wasting away br even as my heart and soul grew br and still I fight br br I feel the sickness spread br It is eating me away br feeding it's mass br at my expense br soon there will be nothing left br but still I fight br br Even as my body withers br I grow inside br What cancer strips from me br is filled by what my loves give me br br Because I fightbr br Angela Davisbr br
