Linda Ori - Forest Sprite III

Linda Ori - Forest Sprite III

'Twas a night of full moon splendor br I lay restless in my bed, br A haunting, magic melody br Danced rainbows in my head; br br Sleep was not an option, br My mind now full awake - br I grabbed my coat and lantern br Thought a midnight walk I'd take; br br I wandered toward the wooded path, br The night was full of sound, br The moon cast eerie shadows br On the dampened leaf strewn ground; br br Now entering the forest dark br I thought I saw a light br Away off in the distance br In the misty woodland night; br br My ears detected laughter br And music crystal clear - br A most enchanting fairy ring br From nowhere did appear; br br Tiny dancing fairies spun br In circles round and round - br Their tiny wings did flutter br As they hovered o'er the ground; br br Rainbow colored forest sprites br Did chase each other after, br Then tumble down upon the ground br In giggling fits of laughter; br br As I moved to better see br I stepped upon a branch - br Then instantly the fairy sprites br Did freeze within their dance; br br Then quickly in a blinking eye br The ring did twirl and scatter - br Leaving golden sparkles in br A mist of fairy matter; br br Once again the midnight sounds br Returned as if on cue, br The fairy ring had disappeared br To where? I have no clue; br br Slowly now I wander back br Into my lucid world, br I'd stepped into a magic land - br My mind had been unfurled; br br Yet still I question what I saw, br And wonder at its meaning - br Had I crossed into another realm, br Or was I merely dreaming?br br Linda Oribr br
