Kelly Vinal - Distance

Kelly Vinal - Distance

How these streets br Of busy people, br White-lighted, foolish br Proximity, never see each br Other, never touch. br br Such is dreaded apprehension - br Spiral steel into the clouds, br Dizzy in the afternoon, paused br Still life, shackled altitude. br br Never knew the Lonesome br Compact, ‘til distant ambiguity br Tossed itself br Across horizons, beyond br The moon’s red sheppard sea. br br The other side is always br Greener, experiential, forbidding - br As if distance kills, fully knowing br It never acts alone. br br That’s these streets of br Busy people, faceless, br Oblivious - young woman in br The yellow dress br br I see you.
