it was raining cat and dogs br Dad stepped out through the door br things got real hairy then br when it began to pour br br he tried to get his brelly up br he had to get to work br he dodged a kitten and a pup br and gave a little smirk br br But then a clawing Tabby br landed smack dab on his noodle br he pulled it off and away he ran br splashing through the poodles br br this constant rain of dog and cat br shows no sign of slowing br and I've heard a rumor that br the pound is overflowing br br we hope that soon this rain will paws br so we can fix the roof br a big ol’ dog it surely was br who crashed through with a 'woof! ' br br we mastiff been in shock br so suddenly awoken br my little sister likes to say br our doggie is house-broken br br Daddy let us keep him br ‘cuz it wouldn't go away br but things are looking rather grim br for all the other strays br br It let up for a moment br so I went to go climb trees br and caught a kitty falling down br he was a cute Siamese br br Momma caught me in the yard br says 'No! We are all set! ' br “But Momma! ” I plead real hard br “Please, please, just one more pet? ” br br we've now a house just full of them! br ought I to be more bitter? br cuz it seems the garbage men br got the pick of the litter br br These dog days of summer br fur sure have been a mess br in a way, it's been a bummer br but in a way, we're truly blessed br and we won't complain br that the rain, you know, br causes any sorrow br ‘cuz way up north, a snow of cows br is forecast for tomorrow!br br Chuck Audettebr br
