Lee Degnan - Evergreen Street

Lee Degnan - Evergreen Street

Brisk winter air, so cold! br and the sound br of a million snowflakes br hitting the ground, br Never had I seen it br snow so hard br as we got ready br to play in the front yard br Headed straight to where br the plows made dunes, br cutting out alleyways and br cozy little rooms... br Soon dunes became castles, br pristine and white, br Two sister princesses br and one brother knight.... br br But my favorite part br out of it all- br Evergreen Street, br to watch the snow fall! br My father would pile us br all in his car, br his little Volkswagen, br it wasn't very far br Plowing through this street br making our lone tracks, br branches come out at us br like reindeer antler racks br Evergreens surrounded us br as we drove in further br heavy snow weighted them br like a canopy of winter br Beautiful and sparkling, surreal to br the rest of the world, br made coming here a favorite br to this little girl....
