Daniel McDonagh - The Irishman

Daniel McDonagh - The Irishman

From a green, beautiful troubled land, br Arrived on the shores, an Irishman, br A hitched ride to the cobbled streets of Glasgow br Were a job could fill a lonely soul. br br A labourer in the shipbuilders by the Clyde br With religious bigotry by his side, br A sanctuary was found within Celtic Park br As he stood with men from Donegal and Cork. br br He travelled Scotland far and wide br With the brake clubs to watch the green & white, br Only once did he return o’er the Irish Ocean br As we buried him by his Belfast home.
