David S Dennis - (82) Incident at Hyde Park Corner

A beggar stands with cup in hand br His eyes upon the street br Scattered shards of love and hope br Arrayed before his feet br br An angry man with writer’s hands br And codes of social worth br Stops to ventilate the thesis br Written on his shirt br br “You think you are to blame for this br But no it’s not like that br There are global forces here at work br That you don’t understand” br br “They hold the media in their hands br And spin and mold the truth br And politicians good or bad br Must face the polling booth” br br “As soulless multinationals br With the ethics of a thief br Crawl lower than a snail’s slime br And take whatever they can reach” br br “In their relentless single minded drive br To chase the bottom line br They’ll suck the life from you and me br And throw the husks aside” br br And he spat the words with outraged voice br “This is where the REVOLUTION starts”. br “Ha where’ve you been my dreamer friend br the revolution never stopped.
