Karl Stuart Kline - (1.7) Blue Moon (The second full moon of the month was on the anniversary of her death)

This was written 113001 - when the second full Moon of the month (a 'Blue Moon') coincided with the fourth anniversary of Peggy's death. br ************************************************************************ br br So, how blue can a blue moon be? br It certainly is blue for me. br The bluest blue moon I ever did see! br br But it’s not meant for only me br It’s blue for all the world to see... br There’s still more war, disease and poverty... br br Even though I have to some degree br Managed to survive all three, br I never expected such calamity br br Yesterdays’ Anniversary br Was only a dropp in the sea br of sadness that can overwhelm me br br Contemplating the gun, you see br As it lies here, seducing me.... br Promising to reunite me... br .........................................with Peggy... br br br NO! ! ! That cannot be! br br br For the grave is cold and lonely... br What we had on earth was Heavenly br There were none more blessed than we! br br I loved her and I’ll love her memory, br But I must live with reality br And so I will always be br br br Her only lover... br br br And I have another... br br br It hardly seems fair to me... br br br But she has passed and I go on... br Her death cannot define my life br I must go forth and carry on br Which means that I do love my new wife! br br I embrace her with love that’s freely given br My heart, though scarred, is honest as I reflect... br I realize that I must go on living br And she deserves my love and respect br br I was blessed by Love like few have known br But my true Love passed on and left me stricken br Peggy wouldn’t want me to face life alone br And I’ve been fortunate to find love again.
