The night before Christmas br I woke up to voices br Got out of bed and peeped around the stairs br Heard my family, again with bad choices br br Father is drunk br Mother is crying br Brother and sisters br All talking about dying br br I am only a kid br What do I know br They ruined another season br And killing me in tow br br But what was the reason? br br I sat on the step br And as I cried br I wiped my tears and br Started to sing “Silent Night” br br Looking back now, there were many times like these br Everyone yelling and screaming br Not often did you hear a thank you or please br Such hate and rage in one family unit br I am sorry to say I will be the first to ruin it br br I will not do this to my kids br Will not teach them the horrors you did br They will not drink, they will not try br To pop those pills like you nor I br br Instead they will grow br Like normal kids do br They will be happy and strive br For the things they wish to br br They won’t cry all the time br and say they want to die br They will instead be kids br and not know my little white lie.
