Sidi J. Mahtrow - Ode to a Yellow Butterfly

Sidi J. Mahtrow - Ode to a Yellow Butterfly

The Yellow Butterfly br br The butterfly rested on the ground br Near the spot of water it had found br A place where a refreshing bit br Of moisture would surely be br Necessary for this flight of fantasy br A flight over many miles br Of deserts, mountains, and steamy tracks br To be passed beneath it on its way br For a date with others in Nature's sway. br br With a flutter of the wings br A pumping action begins br That moves the refreshing dip br To recharge the butterfly for the trip. br Then once again the process begins br With a drum roll of spreading wings br The coiled proboscis carefully put in place br And six legs touching earth in a final embrace, br Waiting for a gentle breeze br To lift him above the trees br And off to places yet unknown br The yellow butterfly goes alone.br br Sidi J.
