Some day when I am gone away br They'll ruffle through my things, br I'll watch from somewhere undisclosed br And hope my praise they'll sing; br br They'll look through all my papers, br My emails will surprise br Some unsuspecting voyeur br Who'll find treasure for his eyes; br br They'll wonder who I really was - br They never had a clue, br Perhaps my poems will help them see br The me they never knew; br br Another side long hidden, br A deep creative mind, br So many feelings put to words - br My very soul they'll find; br br One day my friends and family br Will come to realize br In life they never knew me well, br In death they'll be surprised; br br They'll find my published poetry, br Anthologies and plaques - br They'll realize the secret life br I lived behind their backs; br br I only hope my closest friend br Is first to reach my door, br She'll throw away the 'secrets' br Stowed inside my dresser drawer!br br Linda Oribr br
