Cecelia Weir - A Whale In The Sky

Cecelia Weir - A Whale In The Sky

I was just a child br When I saw a whale br Floating in the sky. br I couldn't comprehend what I saw br I couldn't believe my eyes. br I knew the sky was blue br Like the ocean wide and deep br But why was there a whale br For this was not the sea. br I pondered to myself br Over and over again. br Was I standing upside down br Or had my senses flew off br And estrangly left me bound. br There was a strong breeze of wind br That had pushed me nearly down br Was this when I became confused br Was this why I felt like a clown. br Then I made myself give in br I was not near an ocean channel br Maybe it would just be smarter br To notify the next of kin br For what I saw I could not handle. br I laughed ever so loud br When my mother walked over br To me and said br She knew what I was thinking br She knew what was in my head. br You're seeing an airplane br For the very first time br But you don't have to worry br Its just going to keep flying. br You think something is wrong br But how beautiful it is to see br Something floating along so large br That God astonishingly holds up br Over the heads of you and me. br You might say an airplane br Is the big whale of the sky br For it carries passengers br From one place to another br And sometimes transport supplies. br Like Ole Brother Jonah br In the belly of the whale br I can imagine him riding the skies br Traveling to some new adventure br That only God could tell. br One day I hope to ride br The oceans of blue skies br Being not a cloud in view. br And one day you may fly a plane br And I'll be proud of you.
