Elizabeth Sheaffer - What's A Teenager? (Mommy Dearest)

I'm not on drugs, don't smoke or drink, br Or stay out partying all night. br I appear to be this amazing kid, br But I can't do anything right. br I try and try, but every time, br I fail within your sight. br I guess that I'm much better off now; br I don't have to live in fright. br But I don't want to go on living here br If I can't do anything right. br If I told you this you'd mock me, br Say I'm making up this plight. br You feel that I'm just whining, br That my trials are only slight. br I wish that I could let you feel br What I feel, for just one night. br Maybe then you'd be able to understand, br Yourself having felt the blight. br Maybe then we'd have a chance br To make everything alright. br But until you understand my pain, br All we'll do is fight. br And I'll be left alone again br To cry to sleep at night.
