Sidi J. Mahtrow - poet laureates

Sidi J. Mahtrow - poet laureates

No caps here for the intent br Is to diminish the title; time well spent, br For the laureates that abound br Are for the most part hide-bound. br br Which is to say that they think br That with their title, (heaven sent?) br They have the authority to impose br On readers (who should hold their nose.) br br The drivel they produce br Is fit only for paper under the bird-in-cage's roost. br And with self righteous stance they appear br To express opinions, that one need not hear. br Such it is with the poet laureates, so bold br From Pennsylvania and Nebraska, (both rather old) br That they critique the writings of others br Without a glance backward, over their shoulders. br br sbr br Sidi J.
