Herbert Nehrlich - Awakening II

Herbert Nehrlich - Awakening II

And in the dark I visualise br the utter beauty of her eyes. br I sweep from rose-kissed Roman cheeks br just like a teenager who peeks br to open fields past two small rises br well covered in their pink disguises. br I marvel at the smooth terrain br a small but pretty portwine stain br and soon arrive at sacred station br the final link of your creation. br And here I rest to gather strength br while dreaming of the road's own length br down to the valley of all treasures br where spirits come to gain their pleasures br Black shrubs obscure to foreign eyes br the tiny tears and plaintiff cries. br A clammy hand now squeezes mine br the time has come to taste our wine. br br But wait, what is that piercing sound br it echoes round and round and round. br The hand belongs to my small mutt br who always wakes me, ('move your butt') , br I smile due to the dream's own power br and take a brief but icy shower.
