Michael Shepherd - ! In The Spirit Of Rumi 49 - The Mind

O Mind, where are you this morning? br I really need your help… br br God bestowed on you His most precious gift – br He gave you the ticket to roam br the length and breadth and height of all His lovely Creation br - as much as any mind can know what’s there br behind what’s there – br br you use this ticket all the time, br but have you ever thanked Him? br br When it’s time for you to come home br because you’re needed there br you send a message saying, br I’m busy here – I’ll be back later – br br and then, what happens? br You dream up ideas of 'me' and 'mine', br and then like a dog, bury a juicy bone br because you don't trust your Master br to feed you every day... br br My body was made by God, and br fed by Him every day, but br it’s always here at home; and br it would love you to be home… br br My soul was made by God, and br fed by Him every day, but br it’s always here at home; and br it would love you to be home… br br O Mind, you were made by God and br fed by Him every day, and br given this freedom pass by Him; br why can’t you be here at home when you’re needed? br br You’re supposed to be my servant; br Did I not train you properly? br loved you perhaps too much? br br I have urgent errands every day for you; br when you’ve done them, I’m happy br to let you off the leash, laughing, barking, br leaping, panting, your tail wagging like mad br at the fun of being you… br br Please, Mind, be a good dog..
