Scarlett Treat - POP

Teeth like piano ivories.. br With a smile that shone br Like the sun in the summertime, br Or a harvest moon, br br Always the one br To be the first br In line, whatever br Was taking place, br br The one at the door br To greet you br When you came, and br To send you on your way, br br The one on the ballfield, br Saying, 'Come on, br Let's hit a few balls, br Let's play a game, br br The one with the fishing pole, br Going down the road, br Just to catch a few br For his suppertime feast, br br The one with a twin, br The quiet one, br The one who never could br Get a word in edgewise, br br Husband, Father, Friend, br Comforter, Dad - - br The one who was always br Supposed to be there - - br br Death took his smile br From his family, but never, br Never could it take br His memory. br br Dedicated to my Dad, whom I never got to know very well as an adult, br but whom I miss to this day. His smile truly was a beacon, and he truly was a dear, dear friend to me, and I still wish I had known him better.
