Peter S. Quinn - A Winter Song (From, Lost Song Poems)

There's outside a winter's song br With frore and grayish earth, br We had the summer for so long br For what each day was worth; br I'll long for summer and spring br Each time the night gets cold, br When weather hollowly will sing br In winter so frosty and bold. br br A flower so gracefully done br The winter's rose in my window, br I'll greet you gladly on and on br Cherish your pearl white afterglow; br I've often been in a moody down br When darker the short day comes, br Then I see frosty rose jewel crown br And know in the cold it blooms. br br Winter romance and candle lights br Longing for green sweet earth, br Longing for clearings sky bright br And all what the day young's worth; br How can it touch the morning flame br The winter that's gray and dark, br Will not each color be there same br Without its golden morning spark.br br Peter S.
