On 21st of October 1966 a tip of coal slurry slid br Into the village of Aberfan and 144 people were br Killed. br Of these 116 were children who were buried br Beneath their school Pantglas Junior School. br br They lie so close together now br Out there on the quiet hill br While the valley is weeping in the mist br For the mountains dreadful toll. br br Their trusting eyes are closed now br Crushed by the indifference of men br And their still hearts burst with pity br For those that stand and mourn.
