I wear my father’s face. br I have inherited his gaze br his gentle way of seeing. br br I wear my mother’s face br but none of her grace br only the delight in her eyes. br br I look at them br in young photographs br and see me gazing back br from a time I didn’t exist. br br Sometimes I wear br both faces at once br confusing myself br as to who I am. br br Sometimes the smile drifts br or the eyes look away br catch a glimpse br of my own face br br and for a split second br see me br as I truly am br br a Venn Diagram br part of either set br br me br the bit br br in the middle.
