Emily E. Mehigan - A Call Isn't Enough

Emily E. Mehigan - A Call Isn't Enough

Moved away, br West from where you live, br Took it hard, br Didn’t want to move this far, br Up the hill, br That’s where you’ll find me, br Come and find me, br Come and see me. br br I really miss you, br So far away now, br I can’t just walk down to your house, br I really miss you. br br But do you miss me? br br Crying, wet eyes, br So isolated, br A call away isn’t as good as you think it is, br I want to talk to you, br Face to face, br I want to talk to you, br And have fun like we used to. br br Now that I am so far away, br Our friendship has disintegrated, br I miss seeing you, br I miss hanging with you, br I miss talking to you face to face. br br How much longer will this last, br Our friendship, br Strained, br Under pressure, br Pulling a part. br br Do you miss me? br br br COMMENTS FROM ME, THE AUTHOR OF THIS POEM: br I wrote this after I moved out of my house of 12 years. I was so used to going over to my friends houses whenever. Then I moved 4 miles away. It may not seem far, but it is when you have no transportation until late at night. I missed my one friend deeply, and I could feel us drifting apart. Later that year we stopped talking…. Our relationship turned to crap. We got in a fight, and we haven’t been friends since. I still miss her to this day, but I think maybe it might have been for the best. I was sad not seeing her.
