David Taylor - Why I Like Train Rides

David Taylor - Why I Like Train Rides

A life, fuzzy, full of strife br With string that tangles br And noises jangle br In the subway moving fast br Tunnel vision blinkered br Does not travel very far br Clickety clack, clickety clack br Chugging along my dusty track br Routine rising with alarm br Constantly I’m seeking calm br Briefly pausing in a station br Until a whistle of frustration br Of we go into the dark br Rocking back and forth br Dreaming of another course br Averting thoughts from my remorse br Until careering round the bend br The tunnelled life comes to an end br Bursting forth into the light br Green fields to my left and right br Sunlight replacing dim lit bulbs br Warm and healing life unfolds br Now observing all I see br Watching as life passes me br Until arriving; end of track br Where you wait br And I come back.
