It takes a lot of thought to see that the person who we are br Is so far away from the person who we used to be br Your opinions can all be the same br You can still feel alone or misunderstood br But I'm nothing like the person I used to be br br It's like when the wind blows br It's so random but always carries through br It's like a feeling, accomplishment with growth br Or a promise to never think that way again br br The freedom of not being caught up in the past br Knowing that it's a lie 'Good things never last' br Maybe sometimes I still feel alone br but I think it's just because my thoughts are my own br but I know I have a family now br br Sometimes I feel misunderstood br Like I should have done something different br To show you how much I care br Or that I'll always be there br But I hoped you just see it in my eyes br br Even though I feel alone br I still feel you by my side br Even though I'm misunderstood br I love making it up to you br Just know that I have grown br br And It's funny because I used to think a poem br Had to sound just right, had to rhyme br had to flow, but all it really is br is sending a message through words br Whether abstract or through other accords.
