Sidi J. Mahtrow - An Ode to An Old Grey Hair

Sidi J. Mahtrow - An Ode to An Old Grey Hair

Once you were the Queen of the fairways br Striding along ahead of the pack br Club in hand, eye on the ball br As you with deft stroke played the game. br br Time wears away the luster br Of past dreams and lays bare br The fact that Aging is not for Sissies br But for those who persevere. br br As the shadows grew long br The shine of your sun-bleached tresses br Dimmed as they grew thin br But memory carried you through. br br The hopes and joys of youth br May have faded br But you, although bent by time br Continued to follow a dream. br br How much you contributed br To those who follow in your footsteps br Remains to be seen br As they have not the vision of the future br That your generation shared. br br Disillusions did not dissuade you br False prophets did not mislead you br Scarcity did cause you to want br Mockery did not bow your head. br br Oh, Grey Hair, how we miss you br How we think often of you br How we remember your firm hand br Your gentle encouragement.br br Sidi J.
