ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Carried On The Wind

ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Carried On The Wind

Now carried on the wind above br The ghostly music sounds, br And drifting through the missing slates br And floating to the sky, br The bells forever silent there br No longer do they ring, br So few can now remember all br Those distant times gone by. br br While all the homophonic chords br From organ's rusty pipes, br And echoes of the chorus now br Are falling on deaf ears, br As pigeons make their sacred nests br Upon the stony sills, br Of all the shattered windows as br The final amen nears. br br And yet the spire can still be seen br From many miles away, br Its cross a fading effigy br Religion in decline, br The cracks are growing wider on br The tired and crumbling walls, br Behind the dreary fences and br The 'Danger Keep Out' sign.
