Ted Sheridan - A December Night In The Deep South...Outside it is 68 degrees

It is now twenty minutes past three in the morning br We just had two inches of rain in the last hour br The ground in front of my house is flooded br My wife is asleep br The dog didn’t wake up br When the doorbell rang br It was three in the morning when I checked the clock br I went down the stairs in my underwear br Curious and only mildly cursing br I turned on the porch lamp and slowly opened the door br A man of twenty or so years of age was standing there br Wet to the bone br He smiled as he reached in his jacket's pocket br With his right hand br While he pushed opened the storm door br With his left hand br But I too am ambidextrous br They’ll have to wait for the ground to dry br Before they bury him….
