Ayi Escalona - CHRISTMAS, DAY AFTER

Ayi Escalona - CHRISTMAS, DAY AFTER

The roads are unusually silent br Like a tuneless music room br I felt so deaf to listen to nothing br Aimlessly I am drifted to no where br br Outside, the unused road gathered dust br Settled thick like enthusiastic migrants br Anywhere from the treacherous trip br And it’s good for the road because br br While its thickness accumulate br To my pocket is a kind of different br There are only few stories to tell br When Christmas leaves the air br br Yesterday’s celebration was quite fine br Firecrackers and carols are here and there br Those hungry and inconvenient sounds br Partly emptied my pity and echoing pockets br br Foods are scattered everywhere br As if there are no mouths to fed tomorrow br But it is Christmas, and as they say br It is good to give br br In the morning, I woke up tired br I crawled unhealthy but high in spirits br Last night’s crystal glass is so tempting br I just can’t evade the sparkles of this treacherous liquid br br Good! the fridge, is not completely empty br There are still recipients of electricity… bottled water br I lazily turned my head...and see br The table occupied with stink leftovers br br The floors are marked with the muddy footstep br Meaning… a later tons of sweat br Still groggy…I head towards the gate br I “looked up” and see the soil…lush br br I “looked down” the sky it’s blue, miisalignment br Wow upside down..and with the scorching heat br The wine’s angry spirit sadly left br Yes. Yesterday was Christmas br br In a little more time..
