Ted Sheridan - When a blind man asks for directions....

When a blind man asks for directions br Point.... br br I know I’m stupid br I can feel it creep up behind me everyday br Taping that elementary sign on my back br That reads “Kick Me” br I know it’s just another case of the dumb ass br But still I ask who’s there? br The answer is always the same…”No one stupid” br I pretend and let on like I know what I’m doing br I learned that from watching TV and politics br I learned to cheat myself in school br Where doing homework was foolish br And grades only meant you failed br Passing ones self off as an intellectual was easy br Requiring only silent and concentrating stares br To pull it off br Gee…what a deep thinker he is they’d say br Give that boy an A br A’s don’t mean anything more than a Z br Because when you stand in line you take a number br Not a letter stupid br I know I’m stupid br My father told me to keep my mouth shut and no one would ever know br He was right but also wrong…I knew I was stupid and when no one else did br I thought….Gee…I’m not alone….but I was br I used to read Mark Twain as a kid br He made me fill normal br Like maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing to be stupid like Tom or Huck br Maybe….it was just luck br And not smarts br Maybe….
