Francis Duggan - A Pleasant Autumn Day

Francis Duggan - A Pleasant Autumn Day

A pleasant Autumn day of wind and sunshine br And yellow leaves depart their trees and fall br To Mother Earth who silently receives them br And wattlebirds on flowering gum trees call. br br On this quiet side street of inner suburbia br The leaves are dying on the deciduous tree br But were i a poet I'd put my pen to paper br And write of the great beauty that i see. br br For Nature's beauty can be found in strangest places br Far from the countryside it can be seen br Deciduous trees are golden brown in Autumn br And gums and wattles rich and evergreen. br br And many urban people too love Mother Nature br And of workings of Nature there is much to know br They love to hear the birds sing in their gardens br And take pride in plants and trees they helped to grow br br I respect those who respect Mother Nature br The damage done to her they try to mend br For Nature brings her beauty to all Seasons br And to every Nature lover I'm a friend. br br In quiet side street in inner suburbia br Deciduous leaves to Mother Earth drift down br And wattlebirds are calling on the gum trees br And Mother Nature too lives in the town.
