Ernestine Northover - How They Command

Snow capped mountains sharply pierce the sky, br Ragged peaks jut upwards stiff and stark. br Cold and frozen wilderness so high, br Standing out, a permanent landmark. br br Vastness that amazes all who see br These giants made of rock, rising sheer. br Inhospitable. Only a few br Dare to climb them even though they fear. br br These pinnacles soar above the hills, br And give views that take one’s breath away, br How massive they, from a distance seem, br Steep and lofty in their grand array. br br They stay the same as year after year, br The elements attack endlessly. br But strong remain, how they command, br And move the rapt soul to ecstasy.
