All is still and silent now br The world is at peace with man br The terrors of day are quiet now br Peace reigns throughout the land br br Thin shades of night come creeping br slowly over the earth br Now in awesome stillness Earth lies br Like a woman awaiting the moment of birth br Remembering now, in fleeting moments last br too soon forgotten lessons br of a day almost past br br If it were possible she’d sigh br ‘Perhaps ‘tis best this way’ br Dark battles for one last moment br ... then the birth of a new day! br br Mary Havran br br (Written when poet was ten years old) br br A note to the reader: I have recently spent some time revisiting my earliest poetic efforts and upon br Reflection have decided to post some on this sit.
