David Taylor - As Each Year Comes Around

David Taylor - As Each Year Comes Around

Even as a boy br I would quiet and keenly play br with a simple lump of clay br whilst others kicked a ball br I would be drawing on a wall. br br With saw and chisel br I did make br a steamboat br to float on the lake br as it slowly chuntered by br my dreams it carried br far and wide. br br Even as a boy br I liked to play with bricks br or build a castle br made with sticks br or out of discarded wooden bits br make a home for pet rabbits. br br Now I am a man br I work on bigger plans br to shape the home br or in the garden br arrange pagodas br with a pathway covered over br as I get a little older. br br But as I have found br and as each year br it comes around br that simple boyish play br will live to see br another day.
