GREENWOLFE 1962 - Pain

GREENWOLFE 1962 - Pain

I set myself a task today, br To write of pain in rhyme. br Of the love I lost so long ago, br Remembered for all time. br br The pain is not forgotten br Around my broken heart. br For even if I love again, br It's chained around each part. br br The pain that had been pleasure br Before she ran away, br Was changed in just an instant, br Like sand to solid clay. br br I shivered and I cringed in pain, br My heart to cold hard clay. br To change me from the boy I was br And the man I'm not today. br br The pain had soon consumed my life, br My dreams in darkness too. br My anger and my sorrow, br My hate for the world I knew. br br It's only bitter that I taste br And only grey I see. br And when lovers warm each other still br It brings a chill to me. br br Once I tried to release my chains br That held my love so true. br I actually found someone to give br A cold-chained loving to. br br But alas! It ended as before br With a chain around each part. br And now my love lies chilled forever br At the bottom of a broken heart.
