Mamta Agarwal - A Walk In The Park

Mamta Agarwal - A Walk In The Park

On a wintry morn, just for a lark, br I went for a morning walk. br All of a sudden I spotted roses bloom. br I stood spellbound watching the hues br And had my daily talk with God, br And said out aloud, Lord br How do you do it? br While we hassled, sit br And moan about life being dreary br At the end of the day when we are weary. br br As I walked past flower beds, br In colors- pink, white, violet and red. br Poppy, Calendula, Pansy, Flox br Their smiling upturned faces seem to mock. br They will die in a day or two, br I thought as I saw the petals covered with dew. br They just bloom unaware of their beauty, br Has God sent them to fulfill a duty? br br I wonder why we pluck flowers, br And put them in vases. br They belong here br In the flower beds, where br All can bask in their beauty br And forget about their chores and duty.
