ANDREW BLAKEMORE - My Window

ANDREW BLAKEMORE - My Window

I push my window open wide br The sounds of morning drift inside, br I hear the dove br High up above br Calling for a friend, br Blackbird singing from the bowers br Perfume of the blooming flowers, br Does fill the air br The day so fair br Its beauty without end. br br With my window open wide br Such happiness I feel inside, br The day so still br It does fulfil br Desire in my heart, br The butterflies and bumblebees br The sound of blue tits in the trees, br The day so free br They sing for me, br Such joy it does impart. br br I close my window as the day br Slowly fades then drifts away, br The sun does sleep br While embers deep br Light the evening sky, br Then the twilight falls so fast br Stars do shine when evening's passed, br My curtains drawn br Until the dawn br So peacefully I lie.
