David Harris - Forever And Ever More

David Harris - Forever And Ever More

I was walking by a field one day br early in the month of May. br The buds were in rich splendour br getting ready with their finery. br Something made me pause br and look around at what was there, br it was then I spied br a maiden with the fairest hair. br She was sitting by a small stream br looking at her reflection br in the clear water there. br Each ripple represented a frown br she wore on her forehead br as she waited for her lover br to return from a foreign shore. br She sat so silent and still br under the warming sunlight. br I wondered if I should speak br and break the silence of her concentration, br but though I had better not br and kept on walking by. br Though I never saw her, again, br I often wonder now, br did her lover come back br from that foreign shore? br Did they live happily together br in love forever more? br Personally, I’d like to think br it was like a fairy tale br and that they lived happily together br forever and ever more.
