Bijoy Philip - The things growing in my watch

Bijoy Philip - The things growing in my watch

I can see this huge second hand in my watch br growing heavy with days. br Things are starting to grow on it br trees, rocks and everything stupid like us. br br I'm trying to measure out 'haikus' with my pen br Trying to rhyme it with the same second hand in my watch br But I think it only follows the rhyme scheme of waterdroplets in empty buckets. br br I love my life because my watch ticks br I try to concentrate br But my words are going here and there br Like a mad chinese fire cracker. br br I talk about love sometimes br And then I talk about time br Sometimes I even feel like rebuilding the Berlin wall br Without asking how they would feel about it. br br A black ant fell on the page I was reading this afternoon br And I was wondering br How it could stay alive br Falling from the top of that tree br br Or would it die soon? br Was it the time that really matters? br br So many things are now growing in my watch br I've got a whole civilisation down there br And it's growing to strike mid- night br Maybe its time for them to sleep.
