Alfred Ramos - 5 O'clock Rush

Alfred Ramos - 5 O'clock Rush

Life lingers lifelessly br Neon lights come on by design br Between parking meters br Homeward people stand in line br Subways violently surge to a stop br Carrying briefcases of sighs br Stacked like stale sardines br Hiding their troubled saddened eyes br Stuffed in a fish bowl world br Not being able to look out br Yet everyone is looking inward br Congestion settles in no doubt br Suits in poses to well programmed br Their etiquette weaves not a new thread br With daydreams in need of repair br One could be mistaken for almost dead br Odors collide with fragrances br Smoke stirs them into one br With all thoughts on the same track br Except that misfit concealing a gun br But the same ending is near br When we scatter like ants br In a few crowded minutes br I’ll be home watering my plantsbr br Alfred Ramosbr br
