For JoAnn br Who in conversation inspired this little ditty. br br This is the Ballad of ‘Memo’ Roy br the fastest memos in the world. br Roy writes a memo every minute br just to remind himself what to do. br He even writes one to tell himself br he must visit the loo. br br It all started many years ago br when the doctor told Roy br he was suffering from br short-term memory loss. br Now he writes memos br to remind himself to write a memo br for everything he must do. br br He writes one late at night br to remind him br to get up in the morning br and one in the morning br to remind him to go to bed at night. br It is estimated he writes br quite a few hundred memos everyday. br br His house is filed with little bits br of yellow paper stuck up here and there. br He couldn’t watch TV br even if he wanted to. br There are s many memos on it br you can’t see the screen. br br One day his pen ran out br and no memos he could write. br He couldn’t even write a memo br to remind himself to buy a pen. br Then he found a pencil br and shouted that will do. br br Now he is able to write memos to himself br to tell himself what to do. br As far as I know, br he hasn’t written a memo br to remind himself to sharpen br the pencil once and a while.
