When I travel ‘cross the country br And I want to get a ‘country’ flavor br I try to get off the beaten path br That way I do myself a favor br br For that is where we see the way br Folks really and truly live br Life slows down and glides along br Yes, country has so much to give br br This is where we see, my friend br Wonderful old-fashioned farms br And in the midst of the landscape br Are the charming country barns br br At the same time we see animals br That we love so very much br The cows, horses and chickens br That add to that country touch br br The barns can be so different too br Many styles and sizes as well br It depends on what the farmer needs br And with the barn you can tell br br So next time you do some traveling br Get off the Interstate to see farms br For that is when you can observe br Those wonderful back-road barns!br br Marilyn Lottbr br
