ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Beneath The Chestnut Tree

ANDREW BLAKEMORE - Beneath The Chestnut Tree

Beneath the chestnut tree I lie br And gaze into the summer sky br And watch the clouds go floating by br Within the sea of blue. br br Here I came at break of dawn br And I've remained throughout the morn br Feeling lonely and forlorn br With nothing else to do. br br Resting in its leafy shade br Upon the firm and grassy glade br The afternoon and evening fade br And disappear from view. br br I see the sunset then unfold br The skies of amber turn to gold br The passion that I couldn't hold br No love could be more true. br br I remain as darkness falls br When echoes of my heartache calls br The sadness that I feel appals br If only I had you.
